No obvious signs of head gasket issues; no white smoke out the exhaust, no visible coolant loss/drips, coolant temp gauge has never moved a hair on the dash, anyways. (EDIT: yes, I also did an OEM air filter and cleaned out the airbox, intake elbow, and MAF sensor) I'll keep an eye on it and...

I didn't even notice the moly was at 223. That seems high, no? For either Mobil1 or the dino Quaker from the Toyota invoice. Maybe he added it to try and quiet some noise or as preventive maintenance/his own baseline? Well, now I've got data moving forward, anyways... hah!

True, I have no qualms going back to the what's-on-the-cap viscosity of 5w30, with the HM additives to boot.

Yeah, I definitely considered the lack of moly. I might dump it early in favor of M1 0w/5w-40 SP, just for the added moly.

Yeah no signs of burning oil to date. I'll give 5w40 in another flavor a shot next time, some sort of High Mileage variety. Like has been said, it's dual rated and the correct viscosity. Per the API, there's no technical reason it can't be used in a low output gas engine that falls within the...

New-to-me 2000 Lexus LX-470 with the solid 2UZ-FE motor. Bought from 2nd owner, had many receipts, including timing belt and all of the baselining items one does (including water pimp/timing belt!) all done within the last year. But as it's assuming my daily/fam duties, I also baselined most...

    Rotella Gas Truck 0W-20 VOA

To have more data points? Was there a formulation change? To see if one was an outlier? And any other number of reasons why you would repeat an experiment more than one time. I was going to post a few more of my VOAs that just came back but you've convinced me to go ahead and not share them...

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

I'd never go over 5,000 while under warranty, per the manual. Yep, if I see them at Walmart I'll grab a couple. Thanks!

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

Good call. Will probably, sadly, stick with Nissan for the warranty. But per the owners manual, doesn't have to be a Nissan branded oil filter, hence I'm looking around. Fram Ultra is the best for under 20 bucks though? Not looking at extended OCI or anything just want a product made by a...

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

I suppose I should just continue to use the Nissan filter while it's under warranty. Which brands/models are considered high quality alternatives these days? Wix, Purolator, K&N?

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

How much would I spend? OEM is about 10 bucks. I'd say 10-15? I'm just asking for advice, not trying to convince anyone that what I did was right. The universal Nissan OEM replacement is poorly constructed compared to the Nissan OEM filter installed from the factory, which is no longer...

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

Appreciate the input, I was basically wondering about the flow. Cost isn't the issue, it's the quality of the filter. The new OEM replacement filter is lower quality than the original factory OEM filter I took off the truck. The Hiflo seems like a higher quality replacement (and is actually a...

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

That's basically what I was wondering. I've seen many a thread on using car filters on bikes but none that I've found the other way around 😅

    Motorcycle filter on a car?

Here's a silly question that I couldn't really find the answer to. Could I use a Hiflo motorcycle oil filter in place of an OEM oil filter for my truck? I know it physically spins on the truck and in fact the Hiflo has all the same dimensions, micron rating, etc as the OEM, using filter cross...
