    The latest repair geek video

True the average person will never get a million mile engine. I thought it interesting though that the synthetics didn't show better protection.

    The latest repair geek video

The repair geek just posted a video about one million mile engines. The studies done kind of turns everything you think you know about oil on it's head! One of the findings was that synthetic oils offered no better protection than mineral based oils long term . Another thing mentioned is that...

    New Amsoil formulation?

What are they changing? I thought the existing formula was pretty good.

1974 Kawasaki 900 Z1E, it's been in my basement in pieces for the last 40 years.

    Carquest and MicroGuard oil filters

PPE makes a filter with 98% @20microns absolute and 50% @ 10 microns for the 6.4 hemi. It also has one of the highest dirt holding capacity filters made for gasoline engines, If you go to their website and look for a match you may be surprised by their efficiency. For some of their filters they...

Don't mix oils! Oil pressure dropped ---

I just mixed 1.5 qt.s of Pennzoil platinum Euro with the rest of my Castrol Edge Euro (both 0w40). I plan on going back to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and will probably mix in a little of the Platinum to top off on the next couple changes. I change every 4k with filter since I have 2500 HD and use...

    What makes Euro oils different?

The main difference in Euro oils is that they are formulated to work in both gas and diesel car engines..

NAPA 5w40 Euro SP vs. Valvoline 5w40 SP

While Mos2 is widely frowned upon by European regulators the form MoDTC has been approved for use in diesel engines in small quantities as there are still concerns about it's long term effect on emissions equipment. Don't take my word for it. Look it up.

NAPA 5w40 Euro SP vs. Valvoline 5w40 SP

Thankyou for saying it better than I could. The original poster had mentioned a " good slug of moly" . While some Euros do apparently have it. I think it's safe to say it will be less than what you see in a lot of API oils.

NAPA 5w40 Euro SP vs. Valvoline 5w40 SP

I was speaking of 0w40 strictly, I'd love to see a list of those that do. I read somewhere that the reason euro oils contain less or no moly is because of the lower SAPS requirement and the fear of it fouling the pollution equipment in the diesel engines. Euro blends are made to be run in either...

non-ethanol station says their gas doesn't need cleaners like Top Tier

Both are good but I read somewhere that 76 has the highest concentration of cleaning and lubricating package available. Unfortunately there aren't many around here.

non-ethanol station says their gas doesn't need cleaners like Top Tier

Mobil has the same additive package in all grades but the higher you go in octane the higher the concentration of additive.

non-ethanol station says their gas doesn't need cleaners like Top Tier

You're completely wrong about that! It's been proven in studies by the American Petroleum Institute that Top tier fuels leave 19 TIMES fewer deposits in your engine than non- Top Tier fuels. There maybe some fuels out there that meet TT standards but don't pay the licensing fee. That's why...

    VP Brand Gas Stations?

That the one in Andover? Very few top Tier stations have the sticker. The only one I know of is the Citgo in Scio. Google will tell you that VP is Top Tier but they aren't listed. I just emailed the company and asked about it.

    VP Brand Gas Stations?

Google will tell you that VP is top tier. It's not listed on the site list though. I just sent VP an email asking about it. I used to live by Mobile stations now I don't live very close to any known top tier stations. VP was $3.15 a gallon which is right on par with all the local non-top tier...
