    NAPA 4070 Coolant Filter Results

Put one on my 87 Jeep 4.0 about 3 years ago. While not as nasty as yours, I had several teaspoons of grit.Could be that's why my last water pump lasted only 3 years. All is well now. A good add on project!

2010 Honda Pilot, 3.5, Penn Ultra, 6k on oil

Accord Uses Oil...Should I be concerned?

Disable the VCM with a MUZZLER II, about $55. Google Honda Pilot and Odyssey VCM delete. I did this to my 2010 Odyssey, and have no regrets. I run 0w-40 with great results.

What Power Steering Fluid for a Jeep Cherokee

I use MaxLife ATF in my 87 Jeep Cherokee. I've added a small cooler, and I've had no problems with this set up. 148k miles, and I've owned my Jeep since 11/86. I've always used ATF, but went to Maxlife in the last 7 years or so. Not sure of the difference between 87 and 2000 pumps, but most guys...

    Advice: Odyssey or Sienna?

We had a 2004 Odyssey with 182,000 miles. No problems other than motor mounts. Trans fluid was changed every 10k with Maxlife. Our 2010 has 66k. Again, no problems. I've disabled the VCM with a MuzzlerII and use Mobil 1 Ow-40, and Maxlife in the trans. I do have a great independent Honda tech...

If I knew I was gonna last this long, I would have

A couple of days ago, I had a tooth just break apart. No previous pain. Had it pulled today, apparently not cost effective to save it. While I take care of my teeth, when you get up into the AARP age, s*it happens:)

Questions on adding a coolant filter

I'd try some flush and fills with plain water/cleaner before I added the filter. Why spend $7 per filter trying to get it clean? That's how I did it on my Jeep 4.0. They are designed to run in by pass off the heater hoses. I used the Wix base and filters from FLEET Filter. I used Pex brass tees...

    89 chevy truck & MOS

My bet is MOS will stop that smoke. It is good stuff. It has reduced the RMS leak on my Jeep 4.0 to just a few drops after shut off. Thanks for posting and looking forward to the results. It might take up to 500 miles, so give it time.

1990 Jeep Wagoneer Limited - help?

Have had my 87 XJ Laredo 28 years Nov 26th. AMC built them well. 100k mile cars? No friggin way. Try 500k with service per manual. They will we rust out before they wear out. Mine came from CA, and I'm in GA, so I'm good for another 28 years

    Chevy/gmc trucks......oil cooler

Clevy, was it an air/oil type? Unless it had a thermostatic control, I would think that would not be too great for the Canadian winters. I just added a water/oil heat exchanger to my Jeep Cherokee. It sandwiches between the oil filter and filter mount. I'm using it more as an oil heater for...

    Amelia Earhart Plane Fragment Identified

Per Paul Mantz, Amelia typically corrected drift in the Electra's take off by "jockeying the throttles", and not using the rudders. On the crash report she mentioned pulling a throttle back when the plane got off the centerline. In her final radio transmission, her voice was near panic...

    Amelia Earhart Plane Fragment Identified

Yep. I spent all summer reading every book on Earhart. Not a spy. Never flew close to Japanese occupied islands, and flew several hundred miles away from the Japanese islands, and at night. The lady and her husband were counting on the second attempt at the around the world flight to restore...
