I checked plugs when I replaced them. They are clean. I was thinking something like a 5w40 too. Never used 15w50 before so I didn't know. Thanks for your insight and second opinion.

So if there are no esters in this oil, then what caused the leaks to slow?

Does super tech full synthetic contain esters? I used this oil in my old leaky ford and it slowed down a couple of oil leaks considerably

Hey folks I am curious, is it safe to use "retro fix II" (ester oil for A/C compressors that ran on r12 but got converted to r134a) in an old gasoline engine that has been neglected for years? Mainly to clean up and restore seals.
