I'm surprised at the ph level of the prestone concentrate... I thought it would be higher

So completely drained my overflow reservoir (about 1.5L) and what I could get out of the radiator without pulling the pedcock about (.5L) and poured in the prestone concentrate. Then drove (with heat on high) until got to operating temp and ensured thermostat opened. Went to MR LUBE and they...

Thanks everyone... I'm going to drain out a couple liters of the coolant and refill with the concentrate. I suspect that my initial way of "estimating" left me with a ratio of around 55% water and 45% coolant. The recommendation on the bottle is for a minimum of 50% coolant and can go to 60%...

Thank you so much.... the good news is its only been a couple weeks so not long enough damage anything... tomorrow I will drain out 2 liters of the coolant and replace with fresh concentrate. Then I will repeat the strip test (somewhere other than where I got the first test) and see if it makes...

that's what they tested it with.... i guess ill go buy my own...walmart has them you say?

if what your saying is true then i don't understand how i could have low ph... if anything my ratio was a little light (more water than coolant) and the coolant is brand new. Does anything else cause low PH?

so adding more coolant concentrate (increasing my ratio) won't increase my ph level (decrease my acid level) then

I recently completely flushed my cooling system and replaced the coolant. I did a very thorough flush using a radiator flush kit, distilled water and flushing several times. I removed my thermostat, put the heater on high and drained my reservoir tank. I had completely clear water draining out...

Ya me too, someone in another thread posted that some of the 2014 models ended up with the Orange HOAT coolant... so maybe thats what happened to mine, cause it sure looked orange
