JavierH19, When you say trans serviced, do you mean drain and refill fluid? If so, I have I it done at 40K and will do it again at 80K, which is soon, so I will look into that.

Hi, The valve cover gasket on my 2017 Hyundai Elantra is just started to leak. You can see the slight oil moisture at the base of all the ignition coils. My Elantra is 6 1/2 years old with 79,000 miles. I assume Hyundai's 100K warranty should cover the cost to replace?? Also, how many hours...

So far, my father as just done basic maintenance on his Elantra with 177K. It think he had to replace the alternator recently though.

Haha...at 80,000 miles? My father's 2011 Elantra is at 177,000 and still going strong. You are thinking about the Hyundai's of the 90's.

Rand, 5W-30 regular full synthetic, or high mileage?

I have been doing 4K mile oil changes since the day I got the car with 10 miles on it. I doubt there will be sludge in the oil!

Ok, I think I better stick to the OEM recommended oil grade (5W-20) at least till I get to 100K for warranty purposes. I think I will switch back to regular full synthetic instead of the high mileage to see if that makes a difference or not.
