2018 Ford Explorer EB, ST FS 5w30, 3,000 miles/100 Hours, 90,000 on vehicle. Fuel dilution

Other than the viscosity lowering to 8.9 this sample looks great to me. The fuel is not effecting the wear metals. I'm running a bottle of Gumout complete fuel system cleaner through it now. I'm thinking of using the Supertech Full Synthetic 10w30 next run to see if the final vis stays in grade...

    2019 Ford F250 6.2L 101k, Starfire 10w30 HDEO 6,000 miles.

Lots of idle time and some towing. I’ve been running this oil in my entire mixed fleet and it’s showing that it’s working well.

    Starfire 10w30HD CK-4/SN VOA

I spoke to Starfire technical support about another product application this week. While on the phone I asked about the oxidation number and base oil used. He didn’t say who it was from but confirmed that the synthetic blend HDEO is group 3 and group 2+. I feel like this product is a great...

Right. It looks like the older HDEO oils when 1300 was the norm.

ALS tribology was the lab used. The service is through Chevron lubewatch and they did recently move to the lab in Georgia. The lab was in Ohio but due to the new zinc trends in HDEO samples, the equipment is better suited to handle the samples in the GA lab.

    Starfire 10w30HD CK-4/SN VOA

It’s labeled a synthetic blend and with the oxidation number being a 12 I’m wondering if there is some GTL in there?

    Starfire 10w30HD CK-4/SN VOA

Have been running this in my fleet of diesel/gas vehicles about a year with great results. Most of the diesel trucks are ISL 9.0 Cummins which spec 15w40 or 10w30 for fuel economy. Originally purchased as a lower cost one oil for all vehicles solution as it’s gas rated too. So far so good. Wear...

    Fram Titanium FS10575 TORN C&P

Never seen a bad Premium Guard product. Not saying they don’t exist, just saying I haven’t seen one. Sad when the Chinese made filters are higher quality than the USA made stuff.

Help me decide what oil to use in new KTM

That’s fine. I meets the requirements of my 4 machines. It was just an option to look into. I’ve got it in everything except my wife’s new car because the calcium level is over 2,000 ppm and her care is a turbo direct injected 4 cylinder. If it was naturally aspirated I’d have Rotella 10w30 in...

Help me decide what oil to use in new KTM

Would you consider running Rotella 15w40 in it? I bet it would hold to a 40w and do great at a price low enough to change more frequently. The only reason that might hold you back from using it is warranty coverage. I doubt that would ever become a problem as the oil is very good at those...

Premium Guard, Prime Guard and Eco Gard filters

I have spoken to premium guard before with questions about there products. They recommend the base filter for 5k intervals but told me they test them to 7 or 8k miles and they are fine. The extended life filter is good till 10k miles but I don’t know how far they run them to test. When they were...
