Would this cause the threads to bind up under load?

What would cause internal threads to look flattened on one side of a hole, and normal in the rest of the hole like the images below? These threads are part of a turnbuckle on a differential case spreader that required much more force than I expected to tighten it under load the first time I used...

How does the Valvoline Multivehicle high temp grease perform compared to Mystik JT-6 High Temperature Grease? Is the Valvoline a stable, or does it have a tendency to separate out in the grease gun?

What is the general consensus on this grease? I would be using it for lubrication of automotive wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and u-joints.

It has been sold out at the three Walmart's near me the last couple times I checked, so I had to resort to Autozone to purchase an extra quart.

Make sure you check the cap seal when you are buying motor oil. I found the seal broken on one 5 qt. bottle of Pennzoil Platinum I picked up off the shelf at Walmart, and it was full of used motor oil.

Wow that looks to be the only place that carries Valvoline DOT 3, but unfortunately there isn't a Menards in the state I live in nor do they give a shipping option for that item.
