I noticed today they are clearance pricing quarts in Pennzoil, Valvoline, Castrol, Mobil and Quaker State for just two to four dollars per quart.
You Stores may vary... quantity seems limited. Last week it was Mobil Truck & SUV, but this week it seems like more variety...
On sale in 5w20 for 5 quarts. I know there are many that don't like Synth Blends, but this seems like a pretty good deal for under 15 bucks.
Also available in 10w30:

At AutoZone in 6 quart box for $20 bucks.
Full synth. My local stores were out:

A follow up to your recommendations, which I asked about last month:
Any thoughts/experience with the M&P Shield X, in 9mm?
My local FFL highly recommends it (and looks like the tax return will help out with getting one ;))
Does anyone know anything about Ultra 1 blend at Tractor Supply?
Seems like a good price:

5w30 Quaker State Full Synthetic, at WalMart for $20.97.
(Normally $28.99) in Northern Calif.
YMMV:

We shot a Glock 19 (brother in-laws) a couple of years ago at the range. She seemed to feel ok with it, and even her mother shot a few rounds with it. May have to revisit that idea.
Thanks again.
Wow.
A lot of rabbit trails here and experience. Thanks for more ideas.
Pont of clarification: I'm a CCW and have & use two different calibers, 22lr and 9mm.
I occasionally take her range shooting with me. She is small frame 5'-4", midlife age and small hands. Does not always like the 9mm...
