.31 and .51 both refer to low saps oil oils adapted to new emissions laws in europe where the antifriction aditive is diminished cars with particle filters.. mainly diesel ( DPF ) the aditives if burned, contaminate and clogh the particle filters...

one minute oil doesnt flow all back down that fast and the dipstick barely touches the oil thats perfectly ok

that tech of looking at the dipstick... well your right... you are suposed to see some diference but it is irrelevant what is fact is the oil filters get dry indeed not a single drop problem is worn bearings in the engine "main guts"

its not the filters usually the engine of my car knock during the first second or 2 of the 1st cold start of the day what happened to me ons say is that ... i that i decided for some reason to change the filter witout changing the oil it had to do with having reached that same conclusion you...

you shouldn have changed oil yet you should have left the oil that the engine brought from factory at least up until now, but aparently you changed already. curiously you changed with the best oil that one could use to breakin M1 syntetic in this case its even true becauae you used a A1/B1 oil...

sludge is more derived from things like... more determinant points: - those 1 or 2 degree tolerance variation of the ignition point variations, - ecu fuel trims variations, - sensors specs variations - too loose timing belts that mess with the ignition timing - driving style gearbox use mainly...

this seems to be a is a perfect example of the rule of thumb that says that the grade of the oil used can not change from the grade of oil that was always used. going back to 10W-30 will solve the iron problem.
