What caused this on a 351w?

What year was the 351W? We had a 72 LTD with a 351W back in about 1975 and the valves burned up in it. I wish I was as capable as a kid as I am now because I would have been able to fix it correctly with help from the folks I know now. What I had been told back then was the heads had the valve...

Can I purchase just the red lens portion of an Acura tail light?

In my 2018 Escape the service manual said to pull off just about the whole grill to replace a headlight bulb. All I ended up doing was move the coolant tank, replace the bulb, and put the tank back where it was.

Valvoline Advanced Gear oil for 2021 Seltos?

Use what the factory recommends, especially if you have a limited slip differential. Using the wrong oil and/or additives in a limited slip differential will effect the operation of the differential.

Need input on wheel bearing races

S far as I know, especially in industrial applications, bearing numbers cross between manufacturers and have the same specifications. Automotive, I’m not absolutely sure about, but I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t be because tapered roller bearings are used in many applications.

What is your favorite 16 ft. Tape Measure

I have 12ft Lufkin, 16ft Stanley, 25ft FatMax, and a 25ft Milwaukee. The Milwaukee will do a 16ft stick out, it’s marked on both sides of the tape, and it has a finger slot to brake the tape, making it easier to keep rewind under control so the hook doesn’t tear at the end of the tape.

    F150 engine oil leaks

My son won’t work on pickups too much without lifting the cab off anymore. He says that once you’ve done a couple, it takes no time to lift a cab.

    2018 Ford 6R100 Transmission Codes

You are probably right. 6R80 is for 1/2 tons. Just for the heck of it, I entered the wrench indicator into Copilot chat. It says to look at throttle control, transmission , PCM, or drive by wire equipment. You need to pull codes.

    Turbo additive or no?

Fill the bearing housing like Trav said. Use the same oil that’s in the sump.

    2018 Ford 6R100 Transmission Codes

From what I’ve seen, the 6R100 transmission is pretty much bulletproof. You sound like you took care of it, so I doubt you have a major problem.

    2018 Ford 6R100 Transmission Codes

This may not mean anything, but I had a 2004 f150 that showed a wrench, and it was for a bad throttle position sensor. The other 2 are rear collision detection sensor faults.

    Oil extraction is great!

I have a vacuum extractor and I love it. I just can’t roll around under a car like I used to and this minimizes it. I can’t use it on my 2.7L EcoBoost in my truck, so I bought a valve to drain the oil, otherwise with that huge plug, it made a mess. I’d like to make a hatch by the plug so I don’t...

    Help choosing Spark plug socket

If my son wouldn’t have became a pro diesel mechanic, I probably wouldn’t have any of my Snap-On stuff. I look at it this way. My grandson will have the best tool set of all of his friends when I’m gone.

Can anyone identify these old tools?

First one is a marking gauge for woodworking. Second is a battery terminal puller. 3rd is a small puller. The black oxide tool looks like an impulse coupling puller for an IH H4 magneto. I had to make one for myself. The last tool looks like a pressure adapter for a compression tester.

    Help choosing Spark plug socket

My son bought me a set of Snap-On swivel extensions with locks that don’t allow the socket to fall off. All of my spark plug sockets have the rubber gripper and this set up works well for me. The swivel extensions are really nice.

Sealant on Gates "No Sealant Required" Water Pump Gasket

I usually use either Aviation Form A Gasket or anaerobic gasket sealer. I’ve had good luck with both. No leaks and it makes things easier to take apart if needed.
