    C3 oil choices in Australia

I7 Thanks very much for your reply, it is really interesting to hear your first hand experience and knowledge. It's a 2018 model but was owned by defence, always serviced at Toyota so yeah probably would've had those DPF recall dealt with. Had only done 70K km in 6 years, but in 6 months Ive...

    C3 oil choices in Australia

Thanks very much for your reply mate. Ive heard about both the timing chain and dpf issues. Hopefully I can avoid those issues! Ive heard that running incorrect spec (ie. not C2 or C3) will likely ruin the dpf, and presuambly more frequent OCI might help the timing chain stay in good order. Cheers

    C3 oil choices in Australia

Thanks for that, I thought the 5w30 Mobil1 might be slightly thicker, and might not shear as much with the 1gd cam chain. Just wondering why the Jap. manufacturers dont recommend the euro specifications if theyre much more stringent specifications. Correct me if Im wrong, but am I sort of on the...

    C3 oil choices in Australia

I'm new to diesel motors and have recently acquired a 2018 toyota prado with the 1GD-FTV 2.8 and DPF - the manual specifies c2 0w30 or 5w30, but from what I can see it should be able to run on C3. What are some of the better oil choices in Australia currently? I'm looking for ACEA C3 in either...

Help choosing oil where multiple ACEA ratings are listed

Hello, Ive just picked up my first diesel, a 2.4 twin turbo Mitsubishi motor called the 4n16. Im in Australia and the model is called Triton ute. Looking in the manual at oils, it recommends oil that meets ACEA C1, C2, C3 Or C4 along with JASO DL1. Im wondering what a good oil choice would be...

Oil recommendations for 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.3L - 2nz-fe in Australia

It's a real question for me, Im just trying to learn about motor oil so I can make informed choices as I have no idea. I realise the little toyota motor isnt that fussy but the owners manual did throw me a bit because it suggests a wide range of oils as "ok" but "recommends 10w30". So from...

Thanks very much for all the information. Ive seen the Edge 5w30 A3/B4 is on sale so will give it a go. Ive also found some very helpful old posts (thanks SR5) which have given me better understanding of some of the differences between A3/B4 A5/B5 etc. Would using the Shell ultra 5w40 A3/B4...
