Oil recommendations for 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.3L - 2nz-fe in Australia

It's a real question for me, Im just trying to learn about motor oil so I can make informed choices as I have no idea. I realise the little toyota motor isnt that fussy but the owners manual did throw me a bit because it suggests a wide range of oils as "ok" but "recommends 10w30". So from...

Oil recommendations for 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.3L - 2nz-fe in Australia

Thanks very much for all the information. Ive seen the Edge 5w30 A3/B4 is on sale so will give it a go. Ive also found some very helpful old posts (thanks SR5) which have given me better understanding of some of the differences between A3/B4 A5/B5 etc. Would using the Shell ultra 5w40 A3/B4...

Oil recommendations for 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.3L - 2nz-fe in Australia

Thanks very much for all the replies, its a great help. Ive just had a look on the Supercheap Auto site, some good specials on Castrol edge and the shell ultra helix 5w30. Im not sure why the shell ultra 5w30 isnt down as "suitable" for the little yaris, even though it is 5w30. Im trying to find...

    Penrite Vantage

Just had a response from Penrite Technical Support, they confirmed that it is the same product and that Vantage is only available through REPCO stores.

    Penrite Vantage

I've just been reading the specs, they seem very close but there are some slight differences on the specs page, the 15w40 Vantage has extra licence: Renault RN 0700, Renault RN 0710, VW 505 00. They also mention on the semi syn page that they do re label it for Repco stores. Why would they do...

    Penrite Vantage

Is the ' 'Penrite Vantage 15w40' that they have at Repco stores the same oil as the 'Penrite Semi Synthetic 15w40' that they sell at the SCA stores?

trying to choose an oil V8 Ford 351 Cleveland

Well we're not too far away, Im in Springwood. I like the sound of SR5's suggestion of Penrite Vantage 15w40. The zinc package seems reasonably high, although less than the 1600ppm of the hpr30

trying to choose an oil V8 Ford 351 Cleveland

Thanks very much for the help. Im in the Blue Mountains, but not cold where I am. The engine seems in ok condition, especially considering it sat still for a long while. The rest of the FJ40 cruiser needs a bit of work but Im having fun tinkering with it. Yeah the 20w60 from Penrite seems to get...

trying to choose an oil V8 Ford 351 Cleveland

It was rebuilt, but about more than 10 years ago and I don't know anything about the build. The car was sitting in a shed when i got hold of it. I would say it is just stock clearances....the motor is in an old Toyota landcruiser.

trying to choose an oil V8 Ford 351 Cleveland

Hi all, The aussie lube guides for my 351 Cleveland engine are confusing me a bit. Just looked on Penrite lube checker and they're recommending 20W-60 and even 25W-70 for this engine! I know that high zinc oils are recommended for these old tappet motors, but gee this heavy weight has me a...

Penrite oil in Australia ... very high zinc number

I ended up getting the Shell Ultra 5w40 for the 2uz-fe, the Supercheap auto place I went to had run out of the penrite HPR 5. From what I'm reading the Shell Ultra 5w40 with GTL is pretty good. Thanks for all your help. Drew

Penrite oil in Australia ... very high zinc number

Thank you for your responses, very helpful for me as I have been wondering why Penrite have this high Zn sales pitch and didnt realise it was a Zn and boron total. Ive just spent the last day reading as much as i could fit in about current ratings and what the ratings/specs mean....there is so...

Penrite oil in Australia ... very high zinc number

Hi all, Does anyone know why the Australian company Penrite have such high Zinc number? The oils I'm considering using for my Toyota 2uz-fe are 100% PAO and ester blends in either 5w30, 10w40 or 0w40, but they are crazy high Zn levela...all have 1800 to +2200 ppm Zn! I have seen some M1 have...
