Thanks for all of the suggestions! It is true that they used quite a bit of salt and sand on the roads here this winter. I will have to have a gander at the air intake - I put a new Fram filter on there about 6 months ago and everything looked good at the time, but I'll take a really close look now.

Yup, as VNT said, the Sebring/Stratus have the engines mounted transverse and the LH car are North-South. In the transverse case I would think it would lead to more heat in the rear bank of cylinders. I do believe that the 3.2 and 3.5 have external, accessory belt driven water pumps though...

Wow... Looks like metal end caps do not a good filter make! There's a lot more to the equation. Makes me wonder about Fram's only reasonably good looking filter... Lubeowner, have you delved into any Fram X2 filters to see how they're holding up?

I believe the newer white painted QS filters are Purolators and the older green painted ones are Frams.

First post! Is this recommendation for 2005 and onwards models only, or are they recommending 5w-20 for previous models of the 2.7? (I have a 2001)
