I think you are overthinking this. Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 should be perfect for both Nürnberg-Ring and street use. After a hard run on the track, check your oil pressure at idle. If it's good... no need for thicker oil than 40w. Viel Spaß auf der Strecke. Rundenzeiten?

That is the point I was trying to make, Rotella in my area is over $85 to $100, Valvoline at Napa is over $100 a pail. This price,with the rebates, make this a no-brainer.

A 5w-40 diesel oil is what I would use. Enough Zddp for that older 5.0. Delvac, Rotella, ect. Readily available, and reasonably priced. Is that 5.0 a Ford engine?? Ford in 1989, or there abouts, changed the engines in Mustangs to roller lifters. Perhaps you have one of those blocks in a marine...
