I know this post was from awhile ago. But i ended up switching to Castrol edge high mileage solved it quite a bit i also used the lucas high mileage additive it has been just under 4k miles no more burning. its crazy what switching brands does. ive always used lucas aswell.

What oil would you guys use? I've been using vavoline 5w30 and shell rotella gas truck with a k&n high flow filter. Seems to become brown after 3000 miles every time. I was thinking about giving Amsoil 25k interval a shot to see if it would be any different.
