Mola and Fowvay, can u tell me the differences? Would you recommned useing the truck and suv oil in my engine? And if not why?
Thanx for all your answers.
Hi all,
I was at a farm show yesterday and talked to a mobil rep there and told him it is hard to find delvac 1 for my dodge cummins. He told me that subject came up recently and his research said that delvac 1 and mobil 1 truck and suv speced out pretty much identical.
That would be great if I...
The coolant I got was the extended life made for all engines. Should I be looking at something else and if so what? I want to find something that is easy to find too.
Thank's in advance
If its a flat head its a piece of cake, just gotta take the covers off to get to the head bolts and get them off. Just be careful if its older so u dont snap the head bolts though. Then after u clean the head find out the pattern to tighten the head bolts and you will need a tourque wrench also...
Toyota, I am sure they have something like 200 hours or 7500 miles, whichever comes first. On farm and heavy construction equipment 100 hours is pretty typical and considering how much dirt they run in 200 might not be to bad for a pickup. I would think they might have something in their if they...
How does one use marval for sticky lifters? How much for a 5 qt. capacity? How many miles do you leave it in for? Do you run it hard and fast? Thanx in advance.
I agree with blano, I have heard many times that outboard oil cannot take the heat of an air cooled engine. After researching octane I think your better off to use what is recommended, higher octane than needed I have heard burns cooler which creates more carbon buildup and is a waste of money.
I like to run my motor after changing oil to get the fresh oil to all through the motor and also if it has a filter then I can accuratly check the oil. I like to use a fuel stabilizer rather than draining the carbs to keep them from drying out.
Roegs, I would check to see what they say about using syn. untill its broke in. I was on cummins website and they said not to use it for 5 to 15000 miles when it will be broke in. 5000 for a hard break in and 15000 or 20 I cant remember was if you drive it like a car.
Jon, I would suggest it be changed yearly or 25 hours, whichever comes first. I think the corosion prohibiters in the oil wear out in 1 year and also I have heard the oil gets acidic, maybe someone can verify that for me. Doesnt your tecumseh hold 20 oz.? If so it is more in the 3 dollar range...
I think it was BP that I called a few months ago and asked them if there was any difference in the additives between regular and premium, the answer was no.
