Rotella gas truck was discontinued about 2 years ago. I bought some on clearance and used it in my old Mazda3. It was not a special oil, if you want to use oil made by Shell, buy Pennzoil or Quaker State.

The factory fill on my 2023 GLI had the oil filled to the middle of the hatching marks on the dipstick, seems normal to me. I only have 8K miles on the car and only used 508.00 oil, the engine is quiet and smooth. I don't understand the weird obsession with this VW spec oil here.

That looks repairable, that is a lot less damage that totaled my old Mazda3 in a rear-end collision. Hope insurance covers a rental car!

Someone stops by every once in a while and airs up the tires. If that was truly abandoned in the 1980s, those tires would be completely flat. Not abandoned, but someone is keeping it as a time capsule. Maybe a family member of the owner?
