    Emissions testing - Total FARCE!

I grew up in upstate NY and remember the dread of trying to get my car passed. ball joints and tie rods almost always made me fail, and I was a poor teenager that couldn't afford replacing them so often (roads up there will destroy a chassis in a year's time). Eventually I found a garage that...

Are you saying you can see the center section of the rack move? that sounds really odd.

Thanks. I had to go buy a new (huge) torque wrench.

2004 expedition rear wheel hub nut torque

My factory service manual has the torque in one chapter as 221 lb-ft and in another chapter as 250 lb-ft. Does anyone know which one I should follow? How important is this torque?

    Swimming pool - mosquito heaven

mosquito dunks. they kill the larvae in the pool. and you can spray the foliage with talstarP. I battle the mosquitos here in south carolina and they would be so bad I was unable to work in my detached shop with door open or even let my son go outside. the talstar p works wonders.

Paypal seller portection and Ebay dispute

It is possible that it was delivered to the wrong house. I had UPS deliver a package to the wrong house (so tracking was updated as delivered), the UPS driver went to the house where he said he delivered it but was unable to retrieve the package after several attempts. Eventually UPS reimbursed...

Tips on making a workbench outta 2X4"s....

...then use a 1/4 of whatever cheap ply you want on top and change it ut when necessary. This is what I do, learned it from my Dad. On one of my benches I have a sheet of clear plexi from lowes. This is where I mix paint, or rebuild a cv joint, stuff like that; I can wipe the oil and paint...

Perfectly good engine run to ruin--no oil

It shows that engines aren't as fragile as some people try to lead on. I remember scoring a rod journal a bit on a ford 4.0 and was told not to put it back together, that it would be dead within a week, but I ran it for tens of thousands of miles more before selling it. And another truck I...

    Trak Loc carrier

I have read the tsb and I am slightly concerned that the new carrier will chatter and bind at some point just like this one. I priced out the trak loc tools I would need, the cost of having the dealer do it, and the cost of replacing the whole carrier, and it came out cheapest for me to buy the...
