    Grass Bagger

Looking for something with Kohler engine. Has Briggs and Stratton seriously improved their engines? One neighbor has 21 year old Craftsman rider w/Kohler V twin. Other neighbors have B&S Twins. They run about 3 years and become trouble.

    Grass Bagger

1/3 rule? I want to bag so I can compost. Grass clippings make great compost for the garden. My neighbor sits on his riding mower and has to go to the gym to keep the weight off. Mowing, bike riding and walking the dog keeps me at ideal weight.

    Good mower for mulching leaves

I would not consider battery one for more than postage stamp size yard. I used a corded electric one on 300' of cord for years. Quiet. No fumes and heat. Finally had to replace the brushes. I dropped the armature putting a big dent in the commutator so had to junk it. 8 years ago I bought a...

    Grass Bagger

Do grass baggers made for riding lawnmowers really work? I mow with a walk behind mower that bags the clippings which I compost. I mow close to an acre. Takes about 1 hour several days. That's a lot of stopping and starting to empty the bag, or a lot of raking. How good are those baggers made...

    2.0 Liter Fiesta

Rust belt or Gulf Coast? A friend had a nice clean Chevy. You had to know the rear passenger seat floors were rusted out and not put pressure on the floor mat. we got stopped by the police for a search. The cop was really nasty. He started to search the back seats. Stepped right through that...

Anyone remember when airlines had "city ticket offices"?

Back when you went to the airport and bought you ticket at the counter, I learned to find which airline did no go where I was going and ask for a ticket to where I was going. They would sell me a ticket on the other airline at their lowest price. That was way cheaper than going to the other...

    Bearing Grease

What's the difference? Automotive wheel bearing grease (The kind I used to pack my TR-4's wheel bearings with) or bicycle bearing grease? Wonder what they used back in the 50's at the factory.

    Classic Road Bikes

Found a 70's Schwinn World Sport in a thrift store a few years ago. Not top of the line but top of the middle. Made in Taiwan. Enjoyable to use for exercise and sight seeing. I hope these mid century bikes don't get noticed by collectors and wind up hanging on their wall.

    Massive Fail at Lowes Yesterday

I need boards cut in half so they fit in my car. I carry one of those Japanese style saws and do it my self. Either in the store or in the lot.

can u get a reliable used car for under $3k anymore?

I bought a 72 Datsun 1200 coupe in 79 for about $100. Thoroughly clapped out 180,000 + miles. Nursed it for a year then rebuilt engine and front suspension. Had about $1500 in it. People thought I was crazy. It's sitting in the back pasture now. 800,000 miles on it. No car payments and nothing...

    2.0 Liter Fiesta

That thing was a real pocket rocket. After rebuilding the engine one time. I began ordering re manufactured by Nissan in Japan from the dealer. Not one of those 30,000 mile jobs. Nissan parts guy said that was about the same price as replacing all the valves, guides and springs. About $500+-...

    Maintenance 95 Nissan Pickup

It's a 95 w/KA24E engine. I've read Nissan improved the tensioners and guides to eliminate the chain problem. I am confident the engine will last another year. Since the maintenance history is unknown I am going to recommend a timing chain replacement in a year or two's time. That should give it...
