    2004 CBR 1000RR Service Questions

Don't worry about the E10. I have a 1983 Honda Nighthawk CB550 and an 1982 XJ750 seca. As well as my 2001 ZRX1200. They all run fine on E10. NEVER an issue with hoses, carbs, fuel system compatibility etc. The 2004 ST1300 I had for a while was fine as well. That one had fuel injection, fuel...

Valvoline Restore and Protect for motorcycles

Up front, I am a big fan of Valvoline RP oil in my 221,000 Mi 2010 Acura TL-SH AWD. It hasn't slowed oil consumption necessarily however it sure has cleaned everything else up when looking through the oil filler hole into the top of the engine. I believe my issue is good old poor ring sealing...

    Oil Weight Question

Good deal on the shifting. I prefer the feel of a heavier weight oil all else equal, even though function is no different than a lighter oil in a number of bikes over the years.

    Oil Weight Question

@JBRIII, have you taken the trip you mentioned in your first post? What are your thoughts on the oil the dealer used? @TrialKid, thanks for sharing good input that comes from a place of knowledge and actual experience.

Kawasaki Z650RS for 1-2 hour trips?

I lived in western North Carolina for a little bit. My larger displacement standard was a fish out of water. It handled great but didn't need (couldn't use it is more the proper way to say it) anything near the power or acceleration on the twisty roads around Boone. In my opinion you will enjoy...

    Oil Weight Question

Are you directing that comment at me sir? If that's the case, that is very out of line and immature when point and counterpoint are being shared in a thread.

    Oil Weight Question

I have not, however two-stroke oil performance and satisfaction doesn't relate to four stroke oil with respect to what they are designed for. Although I'm sure the Motul two stroke oil works fine. To be clear, Motul is a very good oil. However I won't be trying it as I have plenty of stock of...

    Oil Weight Question

Yeah, lol. Run the weight they recommend, to change it four times as frequently as they recommend, haha. I'm not saying I have more experience than others, however I have experience and I've learned from my experience not just repeating the experience of others. I have run ester based oils...

    Oil Weight Question

I'm not making any inferences to whether it's too much money for me. When I say it's ridiculously priced, that's a fact. You cannot tell it's a better oil because it's double priced. Provide data to show metrics of additive package, viscosity, TBN over 5,000 mile ocis, unless there are any...

    Oil Weight Question

What's the basis/background that the Mobil has nothing racing about it, other than name? What about Motul has a better claim to that from what you're saying? I would suspect you have analysis to show common metrics were Motul outperforms Mobil 1 10w40 4T? I have posted analysis for Mobil 1, I...

    Oil Weight Question

I did a search for and it was 140 bucks through Revzilla. Motul 300V Synthetic Engine Oil - 4 Liter - RevZilla https://share.google/1rkgaiFJZ1eRvjyLW Good deal you found it at $23 a qt. More than double Mobil 1 4T 10w40. People will spend their money where they want.

    Oil Weight Question

Motul is a non-player in my opinion here in the USA. ~$140 for 4 liters, no way. Mobil 1 10w40 4T for the win at under $11/qt. Does anything, except shear to a 20wt, that a 10w30 will do. Remember, its the spec of JASO MA/MA2, etc the oil has to meet. Not a viscosity. 5w30 car oil of any...

    Oil Weight Question

Copy that. Should have paid closer attention to that post(er), typically includes oils that are in many cases less pertinent to motorcycle use. Especially when Redline has a 10w30 MC oil.

    Oil Weight Question

Redline sample is NOT current... Redline dropped Moly to ~150 ppm at least 4 years ago.
