That thread discussing the VR1 40 grade was very informative. Until freezing point, it ran neck and neck with a 20w50 for being suitable in terms of flow. Here's a paragraph quoted from one of your posts: @jeff78 said: "Plugging in the numbers for the SAE 40 and 20W-50 grades, I saw the 0C...

HPL loads most of their oils with moly. However their specific motorcycle oil designed for wet clutches has very little moly. Redline used to have high moly content in their motorcycle oils and I had no issue with it. I only throw out those two things as there can be or maybe different...

I put a BITOG curse on Connor Zilisch. He moved SVG out of the way mid-race at Watkins Glen Xfinity race, he was clearly faster. Went on to win the race and broke his clavicle trying to stand up on his car to celebrate. He's going to be out of the car for a while. SVG wins the Cup Race by...

Amsoil 10w40 with the fuel dilution was still in grade, double the TBN and a better additive package in my opinion. Granted the Amsoil was 900 miles less on the OCI, however my thought is to run the Amsoil again for the same length OCI as the HPL. I try to keep my OCI'S the same length so it...

The oil was HPL 10w40 motorcycle oil. Says right on the analysis... the first oil on the analysis was Amsoil 10w40 metric motorcycle oil, said that in his second post. Ninja 250, been a shared sump since it was introduced in 1983 along with it's variants. He mentioned 15w40 HDEO as something he...

Fair enough, thanks for the post. I'm speaking from a position seeking information. Twice the RPM at a fraction of the torque or horsepower acting on the same viscosity index improvers wouldn't to my mind shear the viscosity index improvers more. The oil would shear as it does in any shared sump...

Thanks for posting. Were both samples HPL, the current one and the one from 2023? I'm interested in that before I say with bells that HPL did not show well. Unless I'm missing something on this sample, fuel dilution was minimal. That oil can't pull itself up by the bootstraps in a 250 twin...

Jeff Gordon would be eternal, even once Earnhardt passed, Gordon carried the sport and would still be carrying it and could continue to carry it. Obviously he won't but that's the truth in my eyes.

Earnhardt dying left a hole. Dale Jr and Gordon kept people interested. When Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Gordon retired that's when it started becoming cookie cutter. It was mildly interesting again when Gordon subbed for Earnhardt Jr while Junior was dealing with the concussion. Are you kidding me...

Absolutely agree, more Saturday nights but not all Saturday nights. I should have been more clear on that. There are enough Saturday night races it would be interesting to see if there is a dip in local track attendance. It's been going on enough years there should be some data somewhere that...

NASCAR should just race on Saturday night, gives an extra day in case of weather and races are flat out more exciting under the lights. I don't see a need for change in format, just qualify on the same day or move it back to Friday.

Honestly, oil is not worn out by time. It's been proven many many times that going two years (for instance) while not exceeding the mileage recommendation for an OCI is absolutely no problem. Any oil can sit five or six months over the winter if that's the off-season and never bat an eye.

What's the thought on short OCI's of 2,500 miles with Motul 8100 synthetic? Seems like a short time frame given BMW (from what I have read) calls for 3,000 to 5,000 mile OCI's when using conventional oil.
