    Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro

So you don’t want to define “unapproved” That’s all you had to say. Don’t take people asking you a legitimate question so personally

    Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro

Define “unapproved”, as if the Oil Manufacturer says it meets LL04, but BMW don’t have it on some “Approved” list does that mean the oil no longer meets the specs that BMW stipulate? Maybe the focus on being on an “Approved” list has more significance in North America? I stick to the oils as...

    Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro

I don’t think many people in Europe cares if an oil is “Approved” by a Manufacturer. If it meets the specs then it’s all good. I have never cared, nor do I know anybody that cares about it OE Approval If it meets the specs for LL04 then it’s an LL04 oil and it goes in my car needing LL04 oil

    Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro

Hopefully this means better availability and lower prices for Valvoline products in the UK. I used Valvoline Maxlife years ago and had to order it from OpieOils, which takes up to 10 days to arrive and they charge for shipping, making it expensive If it was available in places like Costco it...

BMW M62TU2 388,000 miles...safe candidate for Valvoline Restore and Protect?

Every petrol BMW I have owned has used a little oil, the 116D I owned for a few months years ago didn’t use a drop. My 745Le with a B58 uses the same amount of oil now at not far off 200k as it did when I bought it. The oil consumption is a little bit less on 5w40 LL04, but even on 5w30 LL04...

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

Can only write the car down for four years. This one is going early as nearly new BMW i7 are well priced at the moment as the LCi model has just been released. I was invited to the BMW UK release event and to be honest there are improvements to the exterior but the screens inside the car are...

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

It is a working vehicle, once I am finished with it I have no interest in it whatsoever so it gets disposed of in the easiest way possible.

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

It is a working vehicle not a personal vehicle, from which the full value has been extracted, once I am finished with a car I have no interest in it whatsoever so it gets disposed of in the easiest and most efficient way possible.

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

None Had a water pump replaced this week under Warranty so just £250 Excess to pay. If I was keeping it for much longer I would probably have some of the plastic pipes replaced. But I don’t have any leaks or coolant or oil. I suspect there are less issues with the B58 in the PHEVs as in...

Bimmerpost says no to 0w40 but not here?

Bimmerpost has a lot of people who don’t realise there is a World outside the USA and Canada. As such their world view is rather constricted. They don’t understand that BMW Specs the B58 for LL04 and 5w40 outside the USA and Canada. It is likely CAFE Regs that meant BMW removed that...

BMW B58 gen3 - Limited engine oil choices?

As far as I am aware a huge % of BMWs in the last 6-8 years have an OPF(or GPF) in the UK and EU. Mine does. Specced for anything from 0w20 to 5w40, anything from LL01 to LL04 and LL17FE+ Mine has ran happily on LL04 in 5w30 (Dealer and when I am short of time) and 5w40 when I have the time...
