    Yes unfortunately it was leaking before. I have used a shop rag to kinda clean up the area. I am very fearful of using rtv. I Have seen a handful of engines with rtv in the bearings because "mechanics" used it on a oil pump.

    The only filter I stock is the honda oem filter that has the oring looking seal. Is the what your call a P gasket?

    This is a customers vehicle that I have serviced on a regular basis for the last 8 years. The customer also uses a national chain quick lube place for just oil changes. Definitely wasnt me that gouged up the block.

    Correct....probably one of those "mechanics" who can do a brake job in 5 minutes because you dont need to clean any slides or pins...even if they're rusted solid.

    Yes that was one of my thoughts, was about the stone. I will have to dig out my sioux grinder because i think the stones are different grit compared to my black and decker. I have some scrap aluminum i could see what kind of finish it leaves.

    Im working on a 2006 Honda CRV. After installing a AC compressor I had the engine running charging the system. Oil is dripping from the oil filter-checked and it's plenty tight. Decided to change oil and filter and upon removing the filter this is what im looking at!!! Looks like they used...
