Will do. And yeah, I'm sure I've already ran them like this before. I'm amazed how many of these filters I have found that are contaminated with this black adhesive. I don't remember ever seeing anything like this in other brand oil filters.

Problem is it's already installed on the car by the time I noticed the picture. I guess I'll have to replace this one with a clean one. I just hope I haven't damaged anything.

Personally, I have never had one do that, at least not that I've seen. I heard of that happening, but I usually run shorter intervals of 4k or less usually, so I'm sure that helps.

Here's another FL-820S oil filter from like a year ago that I didn't use because of this. Same thing it looks like to me.

Does your air filter fit nice and square in the housing? I know those filter boxes on these cars like to warp and unfiltered air will escape past the filter. My '07 Grand Marquis had that problem, a little bit. I went to an aftermarket filter with a thicker seal and it's fine now. Box is still...

I swear, those 5.7 engines have some of the lowest iron numbers I've seen on almost any engine made. Superb quality motor.

This particular year 5.0 had port injection only. DI came later on the 2018 models.

Nice report. My Dad had a '16 5.0. Loved it. Never burned any oil in 5k intervals for the entire 130k miles, before trade-in. One thing I've learned about V8 Modulars is some use oil and some don't. My 2007 MGM 4.6L uses 1/4 qt in 5k intervals. My '06 Town Car with the same motor, uses 0.
