I've noticed a nearly 10% increase in fuel eccomomy in both a 2010 Prius and 2017 Prius V when using E0. The same experiment in a 2016 Accord netted only a 3% gain. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Atkinson cycle?

Why? 7500 miles was the commonly recommended OCI 25 years ago.

Here in Pennsylvania we have the highest gasoline taxes combined with really bad roads that those taxes are supposed to maintain. It is hard to imagine what might happen to the roads if Federal support went away. I travel a lot and the difference in the roads from state to state is staggering.

I think it fair to say that the lack of a Federal use tax on EVs was a policy decision, much like the former $7500 tax credit. All good things must end.
