Ok to mix Toyota WS ATF with Idemitsu WS ATF?

I had a spill and fill done on the wife's 2017 Prius V over a year ago. The factory fluid went out and Idemitsu went in. The car continues to operate as it did. Note that this procedure probably didn't change more than 75% of the fluid but the transmission hasn't goone boom yet. That's an...

    Stocking Up On Motor Oil

@tbw2459 Alternatively you could just keep a minimal amount of extended drain oils like Amsoil SS or HPL on hand and just not worry about it. Don't be a slave to the news cycle.

How do you charge at home?

So perhaps someone needs to come up with a better term that might be understood by people who have no understanding of EVs?

How do you charge at home?

I agree that this is an unfortunate mis-use of an otherwise common term or abbreviation. The concept is still valid but the term is wrong. Nevertheless it is important to understand how many miles of range might be gained when charging an EV at a certain charger capacity. That being said the...

How do you charge at home?

Same here, and the experience has convinced me that I can convert to full EV on at least one vehicle. "One less, bell to answer, one less, OCI..." "Though I try to forget, I just can't go on. Each time the OLM rings, I run to BITOG!"

    Post your latest oil change

That is correct. We know that the 2016 K4 is a fuel dilluter based upon multiple UOAs but it's a mild case. The oil level doesn't go up. Nevertheless we've bumped it up from 0w-20 to xw-30 for the last couple of OCIs to compensate for the fuel dillution.

R22 systems? Keep them running or what?

IIRC my last R22 system was replaced in 2017 because it had a leak and it was just too expensive to recharge it.

What criteria do you use when selecting a motor oil?

I care about ultra low pour points combined HTHS that registers near the top of the grade. Three of our vehicles are hybrids including one PHEV. The latter has been known to go WOT on a dead cold engine in subzero weather if not careful with the throttle. Normal hybrids in general spin up to...

    Post your latest oil change

Sadly we did not record the odometer reading at the last change. History seems to indicate that every 10% on is roughly 750 miles but this does not seem to be linear. IIRC we took one of those 1100 mile road trips to Maine on a prior OCI and the OLM didn't budge. My best guess is that we are...

@RyanY Very Interesting. See my reply to @jxthomps above.

    Post your latest oil change

That's an interesting OLM comparison with my son's 2016 Accord with the mighty K4. He's 18 months into an OCI now and has been short tripping the car for seventeen months. By that I mean his daily roundtrip commute to work has been only 4 miles. Nevertheless his OLM is reading 40%. There was...

The new Bolt in the wild...

@JeffKeryk It's a shame that tey announced the discontinuation of this model before it was even released. I would be interested in one were it not for that "white elephant" status.

    Steam engine Big Boy #4014

A friend and colleague of mine was there at the Railroad Street Bar and Grill. He said that the police managed the situation well. We peeled off from the chase at Port Clinton and went to the Sly Fox in Pottstown for brews, pizza and wings. Getting back to the subject of oil, did you know...
