SAE 80W is right in the 20 to 30 grade motor oil vis range. But motor oil doesn't have the sulfur-phosphorous compound additives to combat extreme pressure galling. Maybe more of an issue with a 396 big block in front of that Muncie M21 than in an import weighing 2300 lbs with a 110 HP 4 banger

Not Good. More like somewhat tolerable. The past decade if you wanted a VW-ish car you would buy a Subaru. Now even those have been trashed by committee. Quite depressing for the econobox enthusiast.
