Fram titanium N95 fits just as horrible as a lot of other filters, it took me 3 to get one that was acceptable enough to not just dump all the dirt around the side of the filter. Still better than their Fresh breeze with an actual 1/2" gap along the side though.i just swapped it for a Femota...
Filter magnets are expensive, but only for the engine. For differential and transfer case, maybe I should be installing magnetic plugs with my fluid changes as they have no filtering and go longer without a fluid change?
Puroma is nothing special, just generic china junk. My Hann & co had no smell that I remember, definitely not any pushed into the car, but I think I remember seeing that in some reviews. The summer heat may change that though now.
It's replacing fram.
Fram is now on crazy clearance as of yesterday on non motor oil, $1 for 12oz power steering fluid, $2 for 1qt Gear oil e.t.c. motor oil is cheaper but nothing special.
If it has the rating then it's good enough to run, unless I'm buying something special like Valvoline Restore and Protect there isn't a ton of reason to consistently pay way more for almost the same thing, especially when Pennzoil and Castrol run good rebates. Mobil is usually like $5 back. I...
Super tech is $18.50 for 5 quarts. Kirkland is often like $17. With rebates I often get $13+$15 for 5 quarts of Pennzoil ultra platinum, Castrol gtx e.t.c. so yes paying $27 for 5 quarts unless it's Valvoline Restore and Protect is not worth it.
For my daily I use whatever is cheap other than super tech Kirkland, typically Pennzoil Castrol e.t.c right now I've been doing Valvoline Restore and Protect. But usually for everything else aside from rebates the supertech Kirkland is cheapest and good enough.
I know Valvoline Restore and...
By that it would be 200 hours. I suppose I would agree that makes sense as a max hours as 4000 miles could average to almost 150 miles. 150-200 hours / 4000 miles / 10 months Whichever comes first. And it looks like 4000 miles might take me 250 gallons of gas, probably no way to hit that without...
So after all of this I don't think we still have a clear answer on How many Hours, And How many gallons of fuel burned would be the right number if met before the 4000 miles/10 Months, Just a few opinions on what some people do. Is there any testing data that we can use to find a good number?
