i service several for a towing company and its nothing but issues. injectors , leaks , headgaskets and operators running them out of oil/overheating.
not the right engine for the job thats for sure.
lord have mercy , so they say
i can one up you and confess that i am about 10 years plus 40 some odd thousand kms over on the oil change on the 98 ram 2500 5.9 diesel i got for scrap.
it had been sitting for the 10 years and ive driven it this far after
automatic car washes are not that bad...
loved mine , small , lightweight , dead reliable. it was so small tho i didnt see it and backed over it in a snow storm.
good times
still looking for another
ive had good luck with mevotech parts.
thats all i install for customers and i run them on my own trucks as well. been good to me so far. just remember to grease them !
several bajillion i would presume. they both have wicked blowby but run great
i have rebuild kits for both , so that is of no concern.
both are non turbo and considering i am running 350 2 barrel in it currently anything is better then that.
my main semi is a 1955 white with a na j series...
as per the title which would you choose
engine is going into a 85 chev c60 tow truck with a allison at540. i have a sae 2 to 3 adaptor already
currently has a gas 350 which is a dismal choice , will be using that as a boat anchor this summer
just undecided as to which to choose.
what says you ?
