I'm the second owner of a 1954 Buick that I bought in 1975 and I plan to keep it until the day I die. It was originally bought by my aunt and now has 36,000 miles.

I live in central California in the Sierras.

I have a '54 and a '55 Buick that both have the original unrestored engines. I am now using 10W-30 Valvoline conventional motor oil. I am wondering if a synthetic or a synthetic blend oil would be a better oil for these engines? The engines have low miles and run excellent with no oil burning.

Here in California the roads are in such poor condition that flats and blowouts are a common occurance.
