    Trans pan rusting through?

Oil pan guy, if you follow my method which can be done at home, which I will post with photos (Soon), your rust will disappear completely and be clear for a good 5 yrs before you re-treat it. Removing the oil pan is quite a pain for the engine, and you want to avoid it. It can mean new gaskets...

Rough Idle- 2010 Nissan Altima V6

I second the guy who mentioned the injectors. (Check the ohms if possible if they are going out of spec) I doubt it's carbon buildup - not at 2010...At least the VG30 engines are not that finicky, they aren't that sensitive. Maybe after 20 yrs of use, like another 92 maxima I just tore down last...

    Supplied Air Respirator for Sandblasting

I called a blast supply place and they said in Canada you can't use silica inside a shop anymore. He said the rule doesn't apply outdoors though IF you can contain the dust etc.. I then found out that Black Beauty (Aluminum Oxide) can be bought in 55 lb bags for cheaper than the silica. He...

    Supplied Air Respirator for Sandblasting

So after much reading it appears the NIOSH P100 half mask is not qualified for use for silica sand blasting. I know someones going to say 'just use another media' - not really possible since it's outdoors, high pressure, and it flies everywhere. So I've been researching supplied air systems. I...

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

But Mechtech, have you ever heard of a new OEM Bosch fuel pump dying in 20,000 KM? Besides testing the resistance of the actual pump, is there another test I can do on the pump to see if it is dying?

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

Thanks guys. Some response. Willix: There is a point I should mention regarding the vent system. 1. The gas tank has a dedicated hose coming out (1 foot length) that is a "breather hose" for the tank. This hose would connect to a steel pipe that goes all the way to the engine bay, and connects...

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

440 here's an update, I just put in a new fuse, and I turned key to ON position, not start, to hear the fuel pump operate, and I pulled the fuse out immediately after just hearing the operation of the pump, without the starter moving, and the fuse is blown. Don't know if that helps.

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

It's always the same fuse - the fuel pump fuse. I don't think it's dirty gas, I only drove about 5 minutes after I installed the new filter before it failed. I highly doubt it would clog that quickly. Also, now when I turn the key to start, the fuel pump doesn't make the ON sound like it's...

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

Oh and Colt, I checked the fuel pump resistance with the DMM, across the 2 terminals like the manual says, and it's at spec. One strange symptom I thought I would mention, when I went to replace the fuel filter, before the driving when it died out, when I removed the top hose from the fuel...

No Pressure When Removing Gas Cap - Bad?

Can this situation lead to the degradation of certain parts - like the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump? Today I had to have my car towed on the main road because I was driving down a hill (after I replaced the fuel filter with a new one), and it died suddenly. Fuel Pump fuse blown when I...

Fuel Pump Fuse Keeps Blowing on Maxima

Very bizarre Colt. It just blew another one again. I then went and jiggled the wires, the unplugged then plugged back in the fuel pump, then put in a new fuse, and it blew the new fuse again. I notice that it idles quite high immediately when the car turnes on, then dies from there. I'm going...

Fuel Pump Fuse Keeps Blowing on Maxima

UPDATE: So I removed both back seats to do a visual inspection of the wires to the fuel pump. I don't see any visual signs of bare wire or any cracks in the insulation. I did move the wires around a bit checking all sides. There is no water in the back as I patched those wheel well rust holes...

Fuel Pump Fuse Keeps Blowing on Maxima

Thanks everyone, here's some responses: JHZ: Fuel pump was replaced with new OEM Bosch #E3000-163020 - this pump was a rip - like $365.00 The pump was installed in FEB 2008 and has 18,253 KM on it up to today. When the mechanic installed it back then (because I didn't know car stuff back...
