Ford dealer diagnostic charge to see if AC is covered under Ford premium extended warranty

Still sounds like an individual dealer issue to me. Just this morning I had a machine dropped off for service and a complaint of loose steering. The steering complaint was written up as a warranty job right off the bat, however I was unable to find anything wrong with the steering. I was...

Ford dealer diagnostic charge to see if AC is covered under Ford premium extended warranty

Not sure where you're taking your mower, but this is most certainly NOT standard practice within our dealer group. My service writers know full well what's covered and what's not as soon as the machine shows up, there's really no reason to charge a "diagnostic" in MOST cases. As far as your...

What are you working on today?

Spent the morning taking my in-laws "new" 2015 Grand Caravan on a Costco run, just to get a feel for how it drove out on the road. Costco is a solid 90 mile round trip, so I had plenty of time to really scrutinize. Overall, I'm mostly pleased for the price they paid. Basic specs: 115k, spent...

Assembled our new $55 Blackstone so we could take inventory of what pieces were missing. We picked this up at our local "Bargain City", think of a box store full of overstock and returned goods. Everything important was there; all that was missing was the side shelf brackets, 2 caster wheels...

Do you have an order or build sheet for any of your vehicles?

I won't be buying a new Cadillac any time soon! What's amazing to me is that my Seville cost someone upwards of $50k in 1995, and I paid basically 1% of that for it at the auction with 68k original miles on it.

Added one of the few missing options to my Seville: compass! Found an OE on the 'Bay for $29 👍

Do you have an order or build sheet for any of your vehicles?

My '95 unbelievably came with the original window sticker with the owners manual. Someone really went to town with the options, basically loaded it up to STS level. $46,979 in 1995 = over $100k in today's money!

What are you working on today?

I was just browsing Copart and came across a really nice looking 2013 Soul! that's just about loaded... they're asking $975 B.I.N. and it's listed with "mechanical" as the only damage. The pic of the dash shows it running without a CEL or oil pressure light, but it almost has to be at the...

What are you working on today?

I've been very happy with the two sets of KU27's I've purchased. I've got them on my '95 Seville right now, and they suit a luxury car quite well. Should be a great match for that Avalon.

    Bought a Lexus ES350

Nice ride, but any car that requires the use of a mouse and cursor to navigate the infotainment is a no-go from me. I never understood what Lexus was thinking with that system.

Busy week at Deere: replaced the engine on an X738 for an oil burning complaint, it was using a quart every 26 hours and spec is no more than an ounce per hour of run time. It got a brand new crate Kawasaki, I'm hoping the factory doesn't want the old one back for verification because the boss...

    Castrol Rebate $10

Have you tried adding it as a payment method on Amazon, then buying a $100 Amazon GC with it? I find most GC's I get are more easily used once converted to Amazon funds... I'm going to spend money with them eventually anyway.

Hagerty for collector(ish) car versus State Farm or Allstate?

I'd double check with your SF agent about a collector car policy... I've got one right now on my '79 DeVille. $10k stated value, 100k/300k limits and a $500 deductible. Costs me a little under $20/mo. It states on the declaration page "limited use/classic".

What are you working on today?

Replaced a sticky neutral safety switch on my FIL's '06 Ranger. It's been bad so long it eventually wore out the entire column shifter mechanism from being yanked up and down with force. I installed a good used column a couple weeks ago as it finally stopped going into park all together, but...
