I currently have a Premium Guard made Napa Gold 7502 on my F150 with no complaints and will definitely use more from here on out. My question is, are all three brands made by the same company? And where is the best place to buy these filters for the best price? Will the regular filters suffice or should I be looking at the Premium Guard Extended version and EcoGard synthetic? You can get them online maybe rock auto. I get Prime Guard for $1-2.99 at my Rural King and occasionally they have ECOGARD
Both companies are owned by Premium Guards parent company. They may or may not be the same filters though. If you're going the OEM Drain interval then the standard models will work. If you planned to go further than the extended mileage filters are a good option.
Premium Guard is the parent filter company, they sell filters under that name but have so many sub brands it’s hard to keep track.

I got an Eco Guard one time and it was rusty inside.
I have spoken to premium guard before with questions about there products. They recommend the base filter for 5k intervals but told me they test them to 7 or 8k miles and they are fine. The extended life filter is good till 10k miles but I don’t know how far they run them to test. When they were smaller company I actually spoke to the president and he’s a really nice guy. He was actually knowledgeable on filters and not just a business major. It seems like that’s your only choice of filter now that most house brands have switched to them as a supplier.
