Do you have any pics of the media where it`s crimped together with the metal slat?
I just went outside to find the crimp, and cannot find anything. It must be glued, but I can't even see a joint anywhere. Very uniform pleats all the way around, so I would think it would be easy to see.
Interesting ... wonder if NAPA is farming out to someone else besides WIX now? Something's going on.
The filter looks pretty good. That dome end bypass valve looks very close to the Purolator design.
UPDATE - I just saw the other thread and apparently the WIX version also has the dome end bypass valve. So apparently NAPA Gold is still WIX.

Filter appears to be in good shape and of good quality as well. Thanks for the pics! I just bought a WIX air filter for my Altima. Excellent quality and American made, fit better than the MANN OEM

Yes, always looks this nice. This was a 5000 mile run on motorcraft 5w20 in my 3.0 Duratec.
Does Nascar really use this oil filter? Looks good, built like a tank.
Help me, I'm trying to cut open a Wix myself(later next week) and got stuck with the baseplate cut away from the rest of the canister(at the seam) but can't remove the baseplate. How did you get around this on your Wix?

the box for my napa pro select shoes a dome end bypass yet the filter in the box has the Wix metal spring bypass up front
