EMA's Statement on using Raw Vegetable Oil

Don't know whether anyone has seen this, but the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) issued a warning in March 2006 cautioning users to be aware of the problems that can result from using raw or refined vegetable oil, or recycled grease that have not been processed into biodiesel. If anyone who's thinking of using WVO or SVO in a diesel and needs to be told that stuff won't be reading the statement either.

It's an entirely use at own risk proposition.

Wouldn't many of the issues be fixed by heating the oil prior to burning it? On Xtreme 4x4 they put a vegetable oil kit on a truck they built. It came with a computer and a heated fuel tank that used engine coolant to bring the vegetable oil up to something like 170 degrees before it was run through the engine. It ran on regular diesel or biodiesel while the vegetable oil was warming up, then automatically switched over when it was ready.
