Oil for 2008 jeep compass 2.4

My girlfriend that I just started dating not to long ago has an 08 compass with about 125k on it. I'm looking to run an oil and filter capable of extended oci (if possible in this engine) as she doesn't keep up on maintenance very well. What would you recommend? I believe spec is 5w20. My 03 4runner calls for 5w30 could I just run 5w30 in both without issue?

You're probably fine with the 5w30. Since she doesn't pay attention, I'd be sure to use something with a low NOACK which is designed for long intervals, like Amsoil.

Mobil 1 EP 5w30 & Fram Ultra and forget about it for a while. 10k miles should be no problem, you can probably go further.

My mom has a 2012 Patriot with the 2.0L, similar engine, and I almost always run a 5w30 in it. Owner's manual calls for 5w20 every 8k miles, even conventional.
