My 2003Jetta TDI Oil Analysis

This is the first oil anaylsis I have done on this particular car. Total miles is 59,500. Miles on sample is 4915. Oil filter has been changed every 5,000 miles, oil and filter has been changed every 10,000 miles. Oil used is a 5w-30. Here goes:
Iron - 16
Chromium - 1
Lead - 0
Copper - 3
Tin - O
Aluminum - 5
Nickel - 0
Silver - 0
Silicon - 4
Boron - 0
Sodium - 0
Magnesium - 20
Calcium - 4100
Barium - 0
Phorphorus - 1345
Zinc - 1542
Molybdenum - 0
Titanium - 0
Vanadium - 0
Potassium - 0
Fuel(%vol) VIS@100c cST - 11.16
Water(%) - 0
Coolant - NEG
TBN - 7.21
Oxid - 9.0
Nitr - 11.0
F-Soot - .46

what do you all think?
 
I think you should quit changing the filter every 5k miles -- it's unnecessary.

With further testing, you might be able to extend the OCI out to 15k miles... again, without any intermittent filter change.
 
You won't find a better 10,000 mile drain interval from a ALH powered TDI. Those are some sweet numbers.

My oxidation and nitration is always much higher and my iron numbers are normally around 40ppm at 10,000 miles.

If you've been using this oil long term than you're getting your money's worth here.
 
Eidt on my first post. FIrst info was written off the fax. I got email copy and silicon is "0" and Born was '4".
