What HDEO Castrol oil would be preferable to use in an effort to reduce viscosity of Castrol Tection 15W40 in a 7 qt.2004 Dodge V-8 gas engine sump?

50/50 with 5-20 GTX. Your Tection has good soot handling capabilities, and a high TBN. If you use UOA's, this can help extend the drain interval. The GTX is a good oil in itself, and the viscosity will work out to be very close to a 10-30. I'm trying a 50/50 of Shell Rotella Synthetic 5-40 and Formula Shell 5-20 right now, and liking it.
