I love this 2AZ-FE engine!
This was about 85% highway.

I will run these to 4k from now on.
Thoughts?

Did you get a TBN? You could at least double the interval IMO., based on these results.

85% highway, synthetic oil, and you're still changing it at 3k? Why so soon? You could easily triple that OCI.

I guess I was just curious?

With 85% highway driving, TBN would've been interesting. You should easily go are far as the owners manual recommends! I know some still fear the warranty police waiting for you to go 1 mile over the factory recommendations.
Excellent UOA and use the oil farther, at least 5k or more.
With only 3k miles, anyone think insolubles should be lower?
What oil filter? previous maintenance history?

If their is one thing you have to love about Toyota's engines is that for the most part you almost never have to make an excuse for their UOA. Sure they had two sludge prone engines for a select models and years but no company is perfect. It is nice though to know that the coompany you are buying from is useing premium material, surface finish's and tight quality control!

how much is the full coverage insurance on this vehicle? just curious

I live in New Jersey, which has the highest auto insurance in the nation.
That being said, I pay $1,440/6 months for full coverage (Allstate).

This is a 22 year old driver with a clean record.

Ouch!

That's more than twice what I pay on 2 vehicles a year! And I thought SC was bad! I'm a little older but I don't remember it being that high when I was your age.

And the 2.4l in the Scion was a pretty good choice. Boost it and really enjoy it!

How many TOTAL miles on the car?

Nice UOA. I agree that you need to run the oil longer. 5k OCI till 60k and then whatever you want to do.

With 85% highway, you'd get the same numbers on conventional too.

If your getting the PP for 99 cents a quart, stay with it. I bought 36 quarts at that price..
