scag hydro filter

i'm the proud new owner of a scag mower. the hydraulic system requires 20w50 motor oil and has a filter that is a 10 micron filter, part no. 48462-01. the filter's msrp is $25!! i'm a long time away from replacing the filter (needs changing once a year), but i'd like to find a replacement that i could get off the shelf somewhere for less than the msrp.

If you search "1-12 spin-on" search on Donaldson, you should be able to find an appropriate replacement and possibly x-reference to Fram, Purolator, Wix or Champ made filter. Break out the tape measure. Adding an inch or so in length or 1/4-1/2" in diameter will open up plenty of choices.
