I was on my way to the store to buy some RotellaT 15w40 to run in the tranny of my old Kawasaki KXT250 3-wheeler and then it hit me; I have 5L of Pentosynth TS 5w40 just begging to be poured into something. This is the VW direct injection speced oil I bought one day for no particular reason that I can recall. Anyway, I was wondering is there any reason I can't use this in the transmission of my old 3-wheeler? OK with wet clutch?

Okay, I'll answer my own question. I put this oil in the transmission of my bike yesterday and it was a definate no-go. The clutch wouldn't disengage. Scratch this oil off hte okay for wet clutch list.

Dump that #@$%! and put some RTS 5w40 in her..

I stopped by the local Yamaha dealer on the way home from work yesterday and they had some Silkolene Medium Gear Oil. They only had four quarts that were an unpaid for special order for some guy some time back, anyway they sold them to me for $4 a quart, good price for a good wet clutch oil. So I'm set for a little while.
