Not what you think.

Whoever came up with the grand idea of having the noodle on the V-brake stick out so far should be flogged publicly. I hit the noodle in the rear fairly often with my left shoe.

front noodle (rear noodle image not available)

Try some smaller/thinner pads, and adjust correctly,or the rims are too wide, have they been swapped over original?,also check to make sure they operate evenly on pull,,ortake to a bike shop and change out to some Deore or better brakes, with shorter arm, what brand of bike and modle is this?.BL

The problem is that on the upstroke my left shoe's heel easily brushes against the noodle. I'd need a crank that is a 3/4" farther out to solve the issue. Alas, only symmetrical unicycle cranks are available for my bike.
