So green GC is green going into the car. So what colour does it change into going out of the car?

I know I'm weird.

Brown??

My round of GC was still green - what does that mean??

At a normal 5k OCI the green would be gone unless engine was very clean inside perhaps the oil did not pick up enough sludge to change to brown. Dirter engine more brown.

It loses it's purple color instantly. A couple of years ago I put some in my wife's engine (which was very clean) and ran it for a minute and then shut it off and checked the dipstick. It did not look purple on the dipstick at all, just a normal oil color.

From Imladris, all the way to Rivendell
There is a story wise Elves tell.
About a plant in Der Schwarzwald
In English, "Black Forest" it is called.
Where the pinnacle of Elvish skill
Was applied...engine wear to kill.
The best and brightest gathered round
To see if a perfect formula could be found
That would almost completely banish wear
And hurting engines would repair
And so these minds so sharp and keen
Boldly went were no Elves had been
And brewed an oil bright and clean
That also glistened florescent green.
And then we humans entered the story
As Dr T spotted The Green in all its glory
And Patman, too, embraced the Green...
With the story unfolding as you have seen.
I really think we shall not see
An oil with such a history
Any time soon upon on our shelves
Unless, of course, we ask the Elves.

pscholte, "Rivendell". Wow. I haven't heard that word in many years... since the last time I listened to Rush's 1975 album "Fly by night".

When I drained GC, it looked like regular brown used oil.

...because it had given its "Green ALL" to protect your engine.

Yeah, one Xmas the family received a pillow that was patternd with a tree, some acorns and a friendly little squirrel. The saying that's about the scenery is, "The family tree is full of nuts." Some "clues" may not be so subtle!!!
