Does silicone Spray

Discolor paint. Im thinking about putting it on the backside of my quater panels on my new truck so the salt water wont stick to it.

Di methyl silicone of which is used in ? most
sprays I have found causes no paint problems and will help keep bugs un stuck on my grill I spray on and wipe off excess so it is not oily.

Not a problem until you want to repaint.

Silicone migrates, and causes paint not to stick, so your body panel needs to be prepped very well before.

But it wouldnt cause damage to my existing paint.

Be careful, some of the propellants and solvents in the spray could well harm the paint.

Pledge furniture polish works well on painted surfaces. It does a great job of touching up the leading edge of my airplane wing. Bugs dont stick ! Great on plexiglas also.
