I purchased a spray can of Molybdenum disulfide (for $2 thought I'd give it a try) and now wonder what to do with it. It sprays out a very dark gray color, really is messy and sure sticks on everything.

My question is what are some uses for for this spray around the home and car ?

I tried it on my garage door screw track hoping it would make it quieter but it didn't.

What else would benefit from this type of product? Should I spray it into the top of the cylinders when I change spark plugs? I guess I could use it like an anti seize on the plugs but at that rate I'll never use this can up.

don't spray it into your engine...yikes....

you may have used it for an OK application on the garage door track...but that may have not been a lube issue....

The stuff you bought is most likely powdered MoS2 in a liquid wax with propane as the solvent and propellant.

Door hinges and similar items should benefit from this spray.
