2004 Dodge Cummins - 185,000 total 15,000 on oil - Delvac 1300 15w-40 - Antifreeze?

All,

Blackstone says antifreeze is positive. What do you think?

Looks like an antifreeze leak for sure...with that much Al, its more than likely a head gasket leak.

Can't believe a Cummins engine would have this problem with only 185K.

If Delvac 1300s has no MoDTC, 10ppm of Mo is a lot of ring wear.

MO is definately in Delvac 1300, and 10 would show depletion. Is this 1300? When I see coolant in my fleet I'll have high Na from my inhibitor, then a corrosponding rise in viscosity, and eventually positive glycol. I guess I'd want to know what coolant he was running. If it's ELC w/K, I would agree with Blackstone. Looks like some rod and main bearing material also.
 
I've notice quite a few ISB common rail Cummins with high potassium. The only thing that has changed, that I'm aware of that could possibly cause a change in this area, is the use of MLS head gaskets.
