Ams/Oil Series 3000 5w-30 in 2002 Duramax

I just received the results of my latest analysis in the mail today. This was my fourth analysis in 33,000 miles on the truck

Ams/Oil 15w-40 put into engine at 5,000 miles.
Changed to Series 3000 5w-30 at 11,000 miles.
By Pass filter installed at 13,000 miles@ 330 hours.
Samples taken every 7,000 miles, with regular Ams/Oil filter changed each time and bypass and regular filter changed every other analysis.
Latest analysis, engine had 33,139 miles@ 839 hours on engine.
Ams/Oil Air Filter installed the day I got this truck and FLowzAir Air Filter installed at 26,000 miles.
Based on these results, it is recommended I change oil and filters since lead, copper and silicon showed abnormal. I will do this and retest at my normal 7,000 testing interval.
 
Just curious, what type air filter are you using now, I am not familiar with that one? Also how often did you change the bypass and full flow elements and how much make-up oil?

Not sure I would personally have gone past the third analysis. But again that is me.

Oil sample taken every 7,000 miles. Full flow filter changed at every analysis and both full flow and bypass changed after every second analysis. The ONLY make up oil I use is what it takes to fill up the new filter(s). This engine uses no oil otherwise.
FLowzair is Ams/Oil's newest design air filter.
Just a bit of FYI. I had a '93 Chevy van. Ams/Oil dual remote installed at 400 miles. Full flow filter changed evry 6 months. Analysis done every 12 months. Both filters changed after analysis. I sold that van with 153,000 miles on it and oil drain plug had been in there since 400 miles on engine!
I feel very comfortable using oil analysis to determine if filter(s) or oil needs to be changed or not.
 
Thanks for the info. I have one of Amsoil's foam air cleaners for my 95 diesel. Just did not recognize the new terminology.
I was interested in this analysis because of the copper and lead numbers. Im my truck it would indicate the turbo bearings. But as you stated a Dyson read on this analysis is a must because I would just be guessing.

Why speding the money on syn oil when the vehicle is turned over so soon? any oil would give the mentioned mileage.
 
The reason I guess for the bypass and syn oil and all the anaylsis' would be for prolonging the engines operating life? Any decent oil filter combo would give you that mileage plus. I am not questioning oil changes via oil anaylsis. Just going through the effort with your van only putting 150,000 miles then turning it over doe$nt make $en$e.
