This analysis is from the Cat diesel (don't know the model, nor the brand or miles on the oil--90k on the engine) in the motorhome my neighbor just bought:

code:

Cu 3

Fe 11

Cr 1

Al 2

Pb 4

Mo 14

P 1948

Zn 1586

Mg 1313

Ca 1397

af -0-

fuel -N-

H2O -0-

Si 2

Vis 11.3

SAE 30

S 19

Oxi 1

Nitr 3

Soot -0-

So, it looks to me like clean 30wt!!! I'll suggest that he change it for a 15W-40.

Do the other specs look like CH-4 oil? (Way high phosphorus & zinc, eh?) Maybe a straight 30 CF oil?

Or Mobil Delvac 1300S, or Pennz Long-Life, or better yet, Schaeffer #700.

But...anyone have a good idea of what this current oil is?
