Patman,
Thanks for the reply. I am going to run the oil in the truck for only 3K, then I will start with 5K changes and work up if the analysis are good.

That sounds like a good plan. If and when I ever get another brand new car again, I'd start out with 3k intervals with analysis until I see the break in is over, then I would slowly increase the intervals.

These Supreme 7000 oils sure perform well in winter! We've had the coldest winter here in decades, and even in -9 temps my 10w30 Schaeffer has never let me down.

Never mind. I reread the post.

Just did another analysis on this truck with the 15W40 Schaeffer's. I am now running Delvac 1300S 15W40 and will run it for 5K and do an analysis. My goal is to do yearly filter and oil changes.

Holy Smoke! That's an incredible report Tony,Cosidering that you pulled a 7000 pound trailer almost all this run.
That is an incredible flash point for a UOA!

No, that's ShaZam!
Good numbers for a new truck... or not so new...
But I qould watch that TIN... its the worst of all the numbers besides SI in the first report, you want it under 10 an no more than 20 MAX severe condition, keep an eye open.
But again,
Alright Batman

The new analysis is almost a carbon copy of the one above. This one is by Blackstone and the one above is by another lab. This analysis has 2650 miles on the oil and 10,550 on the truck.

Now it is not 100% apples to apples comparison, but this oil was changed 2 days prior to my trip to Wisconsin and 95% of the mileage is with the lead sled (TT) behind it. So I wanted to see the type wear with this much pulling.

Alum 3
Chrom 1
Iron 8
Copper 5
Lead 3
Tin 0
Moly 109
Boron 4
Silicon 16 (VOA starts at 10)
Sodium 3
Calcium 4539
Mag 7
Phos 1376
Zinc 1568
Vis@210 76.6
Flash 440
insolubles 0.2

No TBN, Oxy, Nit was done on this analysis. Silicon is low, oil starts at 10. To me this engine is wearing very good even though it saw mostly 2300 rpm and up for the trip.
I had 16 gallons of CI Delvac 1300S on hand, so I am using that up and going back to Schaeffer's 15W40.

Very nice numbers Tony! Why such a short interval though? It could've handled double or even triple this mileage, so you didn't really need to change it before your trip.
