Thanks to Vetteman for getting this info up. All samples were taken of the shelves from various parts of the country.
Please look at the other test results in this section as well. Some surprising results. A close look you will find that some do not meet minimum or maximum vs sae etc. criteria.

1st column is the noack d-5800 test with the ci-4 max being 15% and the ci-4plus max being 13%. The lower the better.

2nd column is the astm 4172 4ball test. which tests friction and wear. The lower the better.

The 4 ball bench test can be done in Paragraph 1 or Paragraph 3 . Same test , different loads and time ran .

One 5w-40 diesel oil I know of can give a value of .38 using paragraph 1 and .55 using paragraph 3 , just to show the difference the tesing can show .

I presume all these oils were tested equally though .

Now wait a cotton picking minute. Amsoil even mentions 4 ball and the religion reigns down like he!! hath no fury......but here it's to be compared....but again, the Amsoil sample was "contaminated"...I don't get it.

I would prefer to see a link of some sort of these barage of tests that were just posted in this section .

Not enough info shared IMO . I would like to see the contaminated Amsoil test also and know why or "how" it was contaminated .

We tested the above mentioned oils from samples obtained off the shelf using standard testing methods as mentioned.
Bike there is no link I apologize for not being able to put them all on one page. (my computer skills are lacking)
Pablo. Sorry again. What it is is what it is. No amsoil was tested once contamination was found. ( not amsoil's fault)

Actually we are so friendly here I'd would buy you a beer, or two...

We don't even need to flog it much and make this thread overly long.

Just punch "search" and plug in "4 ball" or "4-ball" and read.

I wouldn't have opened this pandora's box for all the money in the world. But since you did, I would go on vacation until the missiles stop flying.
