i want to try it in my 95 psd just because. right now i've been running the synhthetic blend w/ a pour point of -32 f.
30w is -36 f
how do you think it will work in the winter in new england

I have used the Amsoil 15W40 Marine in my 95 PSD. I prefer it over the 5W30 HDD. But that is just me. The Amsoil 15W40 has a -47 pour point and would be excellent in your winters. Heck under 30 degrees I plug mine in at night on a timer for 4 hours.

If I was not using Royal Purple 15W40, I would use the Amsoil 15W40 Marine (AME).

Sounds like you are talking about a straight SAE 30 oil? Amsoil's straight 30 would meet about a 20w rating (20w30), which has a lower temperature limit of about 15-20 deg f.

I wouldn't use it in the Northeast winters.

RJ,

Sorry I ignored the 30W comment. Ford does not recommend any straight weight oil for the PSD. And I do agree with you, definitely not for any cold weather.
