Getting ready to change out the factory filter in my '15 Tacoma after 40k miles. I've looked at both Purolator and Champion at AAP and Pep Boys. Both seem good, but I liked the gasket better on the Champion.

Anyone have any opinions either way on the Champions? I'm not opposed to going with OEM, either.

I recently changed one on an 06 Tacoma. OEM is superior in my humble opinion. But, just that. An opinion!

Since you use yours the full 40k...just spend the extra few bucks and go with OEM. I change mine yearly with a fram.

You can also check Rockauto.

My Ford diesel uses a $40 air filter from the auto parts stores, it was only $12 from Rock Auto (a Denso brand, made in China)

Champion air filters are rather good I think. 99% per ISO 5011... Well made and gasket seemed quite good for my car's filter box.

And who makes the OEM filter??

In some cases it could be same manufacturer has Champion air filter
